Reader's Choice SurveyAre you grill-crazy? Here's your place

There's something about meat and charcoal that makes magic, especially in the dead of winter.
These recent frigid days have been frustrating for lovers of grilled steak. As winter grows older, each day brings more sunlight, but our barbecues are still out there in the cold, perhaps buried in snow.
One way to satisfy your craving for charcoal-grilled food is to seek out a restaurant that offers such delights.
One of them, the Steakout in Greendale, is a great spot if your passion is a tender steak, lamb chops or ribs. Best of all, the prices are reasonable.
That conclusion comes after two recent meals at the restaurant, located just west of Loomis Rd. on a frontage road with the unimaginative name Industrial Loop.
At both dinners, grilled steaks— filet mignon ($10.95) and a ribeye ($11.95) — were tender, flavorful, moist and imparted with a wonderful smoky flavor. So were lamb chops ($12.95), which were more than an inch thick and nicely trimmed, and barbecued ribs ($9.95), which had been cooked briefly on the grill, then covered with a smoky, slightly sharp barbecue sauce.
