Great-grandfather, "Papa Jesus", the most famous member of the Gonzalez Garza clan, is immortalized in the quatrains of "El Corrido de Gregorio Cortez" for his role in the capture of the famous bandit Gregorio Cortez.

Great-grandmother Teresa Moran was also legendary for her culinary skills. Teresa Moran opened her first family restaurant at her boarding house in the rough and tumble border mining region of Salinas over a century ago.

Mexican cuisine, when prepared properly, can be as demanding as the fanciest French entree. Mole Poblano, for example, requires more than 20 herbs and spices.
