German Favorites
Vern and Betty Maier wish you " Gemuetlichkeit"
and welcome you to the Dorf Haus and Roxbury. (Dorf haus meaning Small Village Inn). The Maiers bought the Dorf Haus, then a tavern and grocery store, in 1959 and started serving chicken and fish family style with seating for 25 people in June of 1961. Together with their nine children, they enlarged the Dorf Haus to the present seating capacity of about 450 people, and through the years have enjoyed serving many fine German and American dinners.

Haus specialties include salad bar and soup or juice

Wiener Schnitzel - $17.95
Tender veal cutlets breaded and pan-fried till golden brown, accompanied with flourdumplings.

Jager Schnitzel - $18.95
"Hunter's Schnitzel" Tender breaded veal cutlets, pan fried, topped with a delectable mushroom sauce and served with flour dumplings.

Rahmschnitzel - $15.95
A lightly breaded pork cutlet, topped with a lucious cream sauce and served with choice of potato.

Kassler Rippchen -  $13.95   
Tender, lightly smoked thick cut pork chop complimented with sauerkraut, applesauce, and potato.

Schweinsbraten - $16.95
A specially selected pork shank, richly flavored when baked. Served with sauerkraut, apple sauce, and potato.

German Combination - $15.95
"Best of the wurst" - Knackwurst, Weisswurst, and a smoked pork hock. Served with German potato salad and red cabbage.

Rouladen - $15.95
U.S.D.A. Beef sliced and topped with bacon, onion, and pickle, then rolled and baked till tender in a delicious mushroom gravy. Served with red cabbage and choice of potato.

Sauerbraten - $15.95
Marinated  beef covered with our special ginger snap sauce, served over house recipe spatzle.

For your health, we fry in a corn and canola oil vegetable blend, Supreme Fry-On. Low in saturated fats and no cholesterol.

Steer Tenderloin - $24.95
Our recommendation for premium tenderness. U.S.D.A.Choice center-cut 8 oz.

New York Strip -12 oz  - $19.95
A traditional steak lover's favorite. Marbled thick cut.

Angus Filet of Sirloin - $18.95
The most flavorful of steaks, a 10 oz filet of the "center jof the center cut"

Western Cut Ribeye -$26.95
Some call this 20 oz extra thick bone-in steak the Cowboy Ribeye! *Due to the thickness, this ribeye will take 30 minutes or more if ordered medium-well to well-done

Add sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions or a portion of both $1.95

Add two jumbo lightly breaded shrimp to any steak $2.95


Seafood Entrees

Shrimp - $17.95
Jumbo shrimp, broiled with lemon and butter or lightly breaded and deep fried. 

Scallops - $16.95
A generous portion of tender Noth Atlantic sea scallops broiled with lemon and butter or lightly breaded and deep fried.

Pike - $15.95
The best Canadain walleyed pike we can find, broiled with lemon and butter or lightly breaded and deep fried.

Haddock - $13.95
Seasoned with our own Dorf Haus secret recipe, broiled with lemon butter or lightly breaded and deep fried.

Lobster - $34.95
At the Dorf Haus we always select the finest cold water lobster tails available, each weighing well over one half pound.

Salmon - $14.95
Seasoned, grilled and served with a sauce of white wine, cream and dill. Served with our festive Haus rice or potato.

One half duckling with orange sauce served over your choice of Haus festive rice or potato.

Batterfried Half Chicken  - $12.95
The original Maier family recipe.

Chicken and Ribs - $15.95
Two pieces of our Maier family fried chicken and  a 1/2 rack of slow roasted pork ribs.

U.S.D.A. Choice Angus filet of sirloin, grilled to order and served with fried onions on a toasted kaiser.
