More Info: The Stamm House at Pheasant Branch, a popular restaurant on the west edge of Madison, Wisconsin, is housed in a 161-year-old building that has served as a stagecoach stop, an early post office, a hotel and tavern, and a prohibition era speakeasy. For several decades, asking Madison locals where to have a typical Wisconsin or Madison meal would likely result in a suggestion to try the Stamm House. Today, owner Joan Scheible maintains the traditions and historic integrity of this designated landmark, while catering to the comfort and tastes of modern diners.

The Stamm House’s all-you-can eat family-style fish fry (served on Wednesdays and Fridays) is consistently rated among the top two or three in the Madison area by diners in “best” polls conducted by local publications. Other signature dishes include Chicken and Dumplings on Wednesdays and the very popular Stamm House Chicken.

Directions:
Located on County Highway M just off Madison’s beltline (Hwy. 12). The Stamm House is easily accessible from the State Capitol, Madison’s many entertainment and convention venues, and southern Wisconsin tourist attractions.

From the Beltline (Hwy. 12) drive East on County Highway M (Century Avenue). Continue for approximately one mile and you’ll find us on your right.
